How a Cabin Air Filter Works
The cabin air filter is fabricated from woven materials that trap contaminants from internal circulating air.
Some applications incorporate carbon material to minimize odor (e.g. hydrogen sulfide and mildew). Its performance is measured by Dust Load Capacity (maximum dust can be collected) and Pressure Drop (how much air flow is allowed through the filter). These two values have an inverse relationship; too much air flow will reduce the efficiency of dust collection, and too high of dust collection would restrict the necessary air flow (higher pressure drop) throughout the cabin.
Don't just look at one value without evaluating the other!
